How Gajjar Asphalt Drum Mix Plants Work:
Weighing Virgin Aggregates: A continuous, automatic belt speed system individually weighs virgin aggregates such as sand, gravel, and crushed stone.
The control system determines the proportions, and once weighed, the aggregates transfer to the dryer via a charging conveyor.
Drying and Heating: The burner heats the aggregates as they enter the primary zone of the drum mix plant.
The aggregates move to the secondary zone, where the system adds asphalt and thoroughly blends it, while continuing the drying process.
Aggregate Flow and Mixing: Drum mixers are equipped with flights (internal paddles) that direct the aggregate flow across the drum’s cross-section. This ensures efficient heating and drying of all particles.
Continuous Asphalt Production: The drum mix plant produces asphalt continuously. A surge silo or holding bin stores the asphalt concrete mix temporarily before being transported to the desired location.
