Working Principle of the Asphalt Drum Mix Plant
1. Weighing Virgin Aggregates
- Operators individually weigh aggregates such as sand, gravel, and crushed stone from cold feed bins.
- The variable speed drives ensure accurate proportioning as per the mix design.
- Aggregates are then transferred via charging conveyor to the dryer drum.
2. Drying and Heating
- Inside the dryer drum, aggregates are heated and dried by the burner’s flame.
- The primary zone handles drying, while in the secondary zone, bitumen is added and mixing takes place.
